A group room is a unique URL (or web page) where you — and your friends and family — can add and view photos and projects. You can also order prints or read and write messages.
Any member of a group room can add photos, messages or projects to the room, and any member can view them. However, only the creator of the group can remove albums, projects and messages.
Note: Currently, Photo Books are the only projects that can be added to group rooms.
You can become a part of a group room in two ways:
- Create a group room and invite others to join you.
- Receive and accept an invitation to join a group room created by someone else.
In the first case, you are the group creator and have the ability to manage the settings for the group. In the second, you are a group member and can manage your personal settings.

Group Room Privacy |

You can protect the privacy of your group room with the use of a password, called a room code. When you create a group room, you'll be given the opportunity to create a password. Only users who know the password will be able to access your group room. Learn more about creating a group room below.
If you do not use a password to protect your group room, anyone who knows the URL (or web address) of your group room will be able to access it. |

Create a group room |

Step 1: Get started
You can get started creating a group room from either the homepage or your photo library page.
To start from the homepage, click on the "home" tab, then click on the group rooms link near the top of the page. Click the "Create a new group room" link under the group rooms area.
To start from your photo library page, click on the "photos" tab, then click on the group rooms heading on the left side of the page. Click the "create a group" link that appears beneath the heading.
Step 2: Choose a name and web address
In the blank fields on this page, enter a group room name and web address.
After you've entered the web address name you want to use, click the "check availability" button to see if it's available. If it isn't, you'll need to choose another web address.
You can also set an optional privacy code for your group room. If you require a privacy code, then only people who know the code will be able to enter your group room.
Step 3: Personalize your group room
You can also choose a theme for your room, choose your notification preferences, and write your own welcome message to other members.
When you're done, click the "create group room" button.
Step 4: Invite group room members
From the main group room page, click on the "Invite new members" link. On the next page, enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite in the "to" field. To use addresses from your address book, click the "address book" link. Separate each email address with a comma or line break.
The email form will show a default subject line and message, but you can change one or both. Just delete the default text and type in your own. Check the "send me a copy" box to receive your own copy.
When you're done, click "send invite" at the bottom of the page. You'll see a confirmation message on the next page. Click "return to group rooms" to go back to the group rooms page.
Step 5: Add albums and projects
To add photo albums or projects from your library, click on the "More you can do..." dropdown menu in either the photos or projects section. Then, choose "Add photos" or "Add projects" from the menu.
On the following page, click on the albums or projects that you want to add to the room. You can use the menu on the left of the page to browse through your favorites or older albums. Click "add to room." Your albums and projects will appear on the main group room page.

Invite Friends to Join Your Group Room
- From the group room page, click the "Invite new members" link near the top of the page.
- On the next page, enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite in the "to" field. To use addresses from your address book, click the "address book" link. Separate each email address with a comma or line break.

- Click "add to room" when you've selected your albums.
- Your albums will appear on the main group room page under the photos section.
Add a project to a group room
- From the group room, click on the "More you can do..." dropdown menu in the projects section. Then, choose "Add a project" from the menu.
- On the following page, click on the projects that you want to add to the room.
- Click "add to room" when you've selected your projects.
- Your projects will appear on the main group room page under the projects section.
Leave a comment in a group room
- From the group room, click on "Add a comment" under the comments section.
- On the following page, write a title and your comment in the fields provided.
- To add a photo to your comment, click "choose photo" at the right. Then, browse through the albums in your group room to select a photo.
Note: This option only appears if there are albums in your group room.
- You can edit your comment, remove it, or change the photo by clicking the links on the right side of the page.
- When you are happy with your comment, click "add message." Your comment will appear on the comments page, and on the main group room page in the comments section.
Note: If you add a photo to your comment, the photo will only appear on the comments page, not the main page.
- To return to the main group room page, click the "back to group" button.
Remove albums
The group room creator can remove any album from the room, and each member can remove their own albums from the room. When you remove an album from a group room, it is not deleted from the owner's Clark account.
- From the group room, click on the "More you can do..." dropdown menu in the photos section. Then, choose "Remove albums" from the menu.
- Click on each album that you would like to remove, then click the "remove from room" button. On the following page, enter a title and your message in the fields provided.
- A pop-up window will appear asking for confirmation. Click "remove" to continue or "cancel" to return to the previous page.
Remove comments
The group room creator can remove any comment from the room, and each member can remove their own comments from the room. If there's a photo associated with the comment you want to remove, the photo won't be deleted from the owner's account.
- From the group room, click on the "View all comments" link in the comments section.
- Click the "Remove" link next to the comments you want to remove.
- A pop-up window will appear asking for confirmation. Click "remove" to continue or "cancel" to return to the previous page.
Remove members
The group room creator can remove any member from the room. When you remove a member, their albums and projects will also be removed from the room.
- From the group room, click on the "View all members" link near the top of the page.
- Click on each member that you would like to remove, then click the "remove from room" button.
- A pop-up window will appear asking for confirmation. Click "remove" to continue or "cancel" to return to the previous page.
Edit group room settings
The group room creator can edit the group room's settings, including the name, welcome message, privacy code, featured photo, theme, and email alerts.
- From the group room's main page, click the "Edit group room settings" link near the top of the page. You'll see your options on the next page.
- Change the name, privacy code, or description of the group by typing in the fields near the top of the page.
- Use the scroll bars to browse through themes and photos for the main group room page, then click on one to select it.
- Use the dropdown menu near the bottom of the page to update email alert settings.
- When you're done, click "update info" at the bottom of the page. To leave without saving your changes, click the "cancel" button.
Edit your personal settings
- From the group room's main page, click the "Edit your settings" link near the top of the page.
- On the next page, use the dropdown menus to choose how often you would like to be notified about group room updates.
- If you want to get an email whenever a new comment is added to the group room, check the box next to "Email me anytime someone posts a message".
- When you're done, click "update info."
Delete a group room
Only the group room creator can delete the room. Once a room has been deleted, all albums, projects, and comments will be removed from the room. However, they can still be found in their original locations in the accounts of the people who added them.
- From the group room's main page, click the "Edit group room settings" link near the top of the page.
- On the next page, click "delete room" near the bottom of the page. (You might have to scroll down.)

Remove albums or projects

Each member can remove their own comments from the room. If there's a photo associated with the comment you want to remove, the photo won't be deleted from the owner's account.
- From the group room, click on the "View all comments" link in the comments section.
- Click the "Remove" link next to the comments you want to remove.
- A pop-up window will appear asking for confirmation. Click "remove" to continue or "cancel" to return to the previous page.

- From the group room's main page, click the "Edit your settings" link near the top of the page.
- On the next page, use the dropdown menus to choose how often you would like to be notified about group room updates.
- If you want to get an email whenever a new comment is added to the group room, check the box next to "Email me anytime someone posts a message".
- When you're done, click "update info."
Remove yourself from a group room
- From the group room's main page, click the "Edit your settings" link near the top of the page.
- On the next page, click the "Remove me" link.
- You'll see a pop-up window asking you to confirm that you want to be removed from the group. Click "Remove me" to continue, or "Cancel" to stay in the group.
Note: When you leave a group room, the albums and projects you shared to that room will be removed, and other members will no longer have access to them. The albums and projects will still be available in your photo library and saved projects. |
